Harmony Grove clinches Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over Genoa Central.
The Lady Cardinals took the lead late and defeated Genoa Central 3-2 on Thursday. The game was tied at two with Harmony Grove batting in the bottom of the sixth when an error scored one run for the Lady Cardinals Softball.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Grace Bryant struck out nine, while Fluker sat down zero.
Genoa Central got things moving in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Genoa Central.
After Genoa Central scored one run in the top of the third, Harmony Grove answered with one of their own. Genoa Central scored when Minter singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
The Lady Cardinals Softball then answered when Baylee Rowton singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Bryant took the win for Harmony Grove. She went seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out nine. Fluker took the loss for Genoa Central. She lasted six innings, allowing seven hits and three runs.
The Lady Cardinals socked one home run on the day. Rachel Kesterson went for the long ball in the sixth inning.
Bryant went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Harmony Grove in hits.
Genoa Central racked up five hits. Hill and Carter all had multiple hits for Genoa Central.
