The Cardinals were able to find two goals against Malvern Thursday night, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Leopards as they fell 5-2.
The Harmony Grove offense found several opportunities to score throughout the first and second half, but couldn’t find the net. Caleb Plunkett lead the charge with two shots on goal, followed by Luis Meza and Easton Rogers both with one. In the second half, the Cardinals continued to press with another four shots by Plunkett, three by Colton Hester and two by Bradley Yarberry. Late in the 74th minute, the Cardinals finally broke through with an unassisted goal by Hester. Shortly after on the 76th minute, Yarberry would also take a goal.
The Leopards maintained a strong lead in the first half scoring 4 goals from 12 attempted shots on Jacob Prather. In all, Prather held off 7 saves. Andrew Warren continued the second half going against 7 shots on goal, thwarting 5 and only allowing 1.
The Cardinals are set to play their first conference match against Danville on March 26th.
