The Cardinals played a hard fought game against Danville Little Johns Thursday night. Danville picked up a goal early in the 8th minute, but the Cardinal defense regained momentum and held strong the rest of the match with notable performances by William Newton, Matthew Stanford, and Trevor Durling, catching the Little John’s off guard with a whopping 15 offside traps for the night.
On offense, Caleb Plunkett scored the Cardinals lone goal which tied the teams up in the 57th minute. The Cardinals would continue to make attempts to find the Little Johns net with shots shared by Colton Hester.
Andrew Warren battled against 16 shots, 10 of which were on goal, and deflected 8. The Cardinals remained tied until the 78th minute, and weren’t able to return offensively.
