Harmony Grove fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 11-7 loss to Lakeside on Thursday. Lakeside scored on an error, a walk by Justin Scott, and a passed ball during Ethan Bates’s at bat in the second inning.

Despite the loss, the Cardinals did collect three hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Lakeside had six hits on the way to victory.

Lakeside got on the board in the second inning when an error scored one run for Lakeside.

Harmony Grove tallied three runs in the fifth inning. The Cardinals offense in the inning was led by Cooper White and Sean Small, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Lakeside scored four runs in the sixth inning. Ben Muldoon, Brody Prince, and Bates each had RBIs in the big inning.

Bates led things off on the rubber for Lakeside. He lasted four innings, allowing zero hits and three runs while striking out three.

Jared Toler started the game for Harmony Grove. He surrendered six runs on three hits over three innings, striking out one. Small, Christian Young, and Tristen Hammonds each contributed in relief for the Cardinals.

Hunter Hilson, White, and Toler all had one hit to lead Harmony Grove.

The Cards play Rosebud tonight at 5:00 at Landers.com Stadium, home of the Cardinals.
