Harmony Grove defeated South Side 15-2 on Monday thanks to eight runs in the first inning. The Cardinals batters contributing to the big inning included Hunter Hilson, Jared Toler, Hayden Hilson, Logan Gartin, Sean Small, and Cooper White, all driving in runs in the frame.
In the first inning, Harmony Grove got their offense started. Hilson singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Gartin led things off on the hill for the Cardinals. He went two innings, allowing two runs on two hits, striking out one and walking one. Gus Holland started the game for South Side. He lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing six hits and seven runs while walking one. Makall Mosley and Brody Smith entered the game as relief, throwing three innings and one-third of an inning respectively.
Harmony Grove collected 14 hits. Small, White, Braden Carman, Toler, and Gartin all managed multiple hits for the Cardinals. Carman, White, and Small all had three hits to lead the team.
Harmony Grove didn’t commit a single error in the field. Toler had the most chances in the field with nine.
