James McCormick had all the right stuff on Friday for Harmony Grove, allowing zero runs and besting Rose Bud by a score of 16-0.
Jared Toler led the Cardinals to victory by driving in four runs. He went 2-for-3 at the plate. Toler drove in runs on a single in the second and a single in the third.
Harmony Grove fired up the offense in the first inning. Sean Small drove in two when he doubled.
The Cardinals notched six runs in the third inning. The rally was led by singles by Toler, Ethan Wetzel, and Hayden Hilson and by Logan Gartin.
A single by Landon Roberson in the fifth inning was the only positive for Rose Bud.
McCormick was on the mound for Harmony Grove. He went five innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out 11 and walking zero.
Keaton Hambrick got the start for Rose Bud. He surrendered 15 runs on 13 hits over three innings, striking out two. Dalton Hall threw one inning in relief.
Harmony Grove tallied 14 hits in the game. Hunter Hilson, Toler, Small, Cooper White, and Hilson all had multiple hits for the Cardinals. Hunter Hilson went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits. Harmony Grove didn’t commit a single error in the field.
