In game one of the 5-3A District Tournament Harmony Grove sailed to an easy victory over Bismarck 13-2 on Thursday.
The Cardinals got things started in the first inning when Jared Toler singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Harmony Grove put up six runs in the second inning. Logan Gartin, Sean Small, Hunter Hilson, Toler, and Ethan Wetzel all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Christian Young toed the rubber for the Cardinals. He allowed three hits and two runs over three and a third innings, striking out seven and walking zero. Robertson toed the rubber for Bismarck. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits, striking out three and walking one. Weeks and Parker entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and one-third innings and one inning respectively. Logan Gartin came in and closed for the Cardinals and was lights out with a devastating knuckle ball.
Harmony Grove racked up 14 hits. Hilson, Toler, Small, Gartin, and Braden Carman all had multiple hits for the Cardinals. Hunter Hilson led the team with three hits in three at bats.
The Cardinals move on to play the Mayflower Eagles at 4:00 Thursday 4/27.
