Girls Varsity Softball · Dempsey signs with Harding University

Kristen Dempsey signed her National Letter of Intent to play softball at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.  Dempsey has had an outstanding career with the Lady Cardinals with a .421 batting average, 20 home runs, 123 RBI’s.  She also leads the Lady Cards in the circle with a career record of 51-12 and 378 strikeouts.  Coach Massey responded, “I could not be more proud of her and her accomplishments.  It has been an honor and privilege to get to coach her and watch her grow into a wonderful young lady.”

As a member of the softball team Dempsey has been apart of three conferencedempsey1 championships, three district tournament championships, one regional tournament championship, and a 2013 3A State Championship.  During that time her personal awards include three time 5-AAA All-Conference, two time All-State, Arkansas All Prep Team, and 2013 3A State Tournament MVP.  Massey added,”She has worked very hard and earned a great honor that not many athletes get to have.  She will get to continue playing softball for Harding University.  She has battled through injuries and adversity and has come out on top.  She has represented Harmony Grove High School very well.  We wish her all the best in her future at Harding.”
