Haskell Harmony Grove fishing team had two teams that qualified for the Arkansas High School Bassers Classic Championship this past Saturday May 20th at Lake DeGray.  The teams had to fish a certain amount of tournaments for the series and then be in the top 20 for points at the end of their season.

9th grader Kannon Harmon fished with a student/friend from Bauxite and the mixed team of Cardinals/Miners had an excellent day on the water as they won the tournament with a five fish limit for 13.52 lbs.  Kannon commented on having a limit of fish as early as 6:15 in the morning.  He caught them on topwater baits, swim jig, and spinnerbait throughout the day.   He noted that they caught over 30 fish on the day.

The other Haskell Harmony Grove team that competed was 8th duo Chase Chilton and Sam Mills.  They had a limit for 8.52 lbs.  They had two dead fish which decreased their weight by tournament rules.  The full results have not been released but think they managed to get into the top 7.  They caught their fish on rattletraps and Carolina rigs.
The fishing team would like to thank everybody that has helped and get the team together and going.  The team has a Club only night tournament at Lake Ouachita June 16th.
